My Simple Strategy for Success

My basic strategy for internet success lies in providing quality free books that people can download and read completely free; and then offering additional quality information that people can purchase.

It's a simple system that has consistently generated a healthy income for me over the past few years. If you have a website, blog or other online presence, you can replicate this method of working and produce the same results as me.

Once you get started working in this way, all you need to do is focus on growing your site by offering more and more free reports that link to great product offerings and the rest takes care of itself. It's a great way of working because you are actually providing a quality service with the free information alone; and people can - naturally - choose whether or not they want to buy your additional items.

Firstly, you need to get your source material together. You can either write the books yourself or simply purchase Private Label Rights (PLR) to somebody else’s work. The main thing is to ensure that you are providing quality content. Now, once you have your books, here’s what to do ...

1. First, immediately send out an email to your list offering them PLR (providing your rights allow you to do this, of course) Depending on the size of your list, this step could make you anything from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars right away with very little effort on your part.

2. Then, edit the books to include your affiliate links or links to your own products, compile them to PDF and then start submitting them to the eBook Directories. There are shed loads of them for you to go at. This will generate backlinks for you as well as organic traffic and, of course, back-end sales from your recommendations .

3. Then break the books down into individual articles and start submitting them to the Article Directories. Again there are shed-loads of Article Directories for you to submit your stuff; and, again, you will be building backlinks, getting more traffic and sales too.

4. Now start drip-feeding your articles to your Blog(s) with this same content, over time. There are various ways to do this: some platforms have an inbuilt feature, but you can easily do it with an Autoresponder. Just setup your Autoresponder to mail to your Blog - easy!

5. Then get Social Bookmarking. Bookmark (Digg, Delicious, etc) all the eBook Directory entries and Ping (Pingoat) all the article submissions.

6. You can add some of your books as Bonuses to existing products you are selling to increase their perceived value and thereby increase conversions.

7. If you are not already building a list, you can use one or two of your books as sign-up inducements.

8. Periodically, include one of the books as a complete freebie in one of your Newsletters to keep your subscribers happy and glad they subscribed.

Just get on with this and you will make money - simple as that - I am assuming that is why you are here at the Forum! Squidoo To Generate Traffic

When most people first hear the word "Squidoo", they have no idea what in the world that means! It is a funny name for a site, however this particular website certainly packs a powerful punch when it comes to driving traffic to your own websites. Because Squidoo has garnered such a great page rank and important with Google, you can use it to give "juice" to your own site.

Let's say for example that you want to target a keyword phrase such as "lose weight for your wedding".

Right now, that phrase may have stiff competition. If you created a website of your own, it may take years to even begin to crack the top 10 on Google. There are likely many sites on page 1 that have been around a long time or have a lot of back links.

To overcome them, you would have to do a lot of work on search engine optimization, back linking, article writing and more tasks just to attempt to over take them. However, you want to start making money now, right?

A better idea is to create your website, but then also create an adjoining Squidoo lens (these little mini sites are called lenses). Because Google tends to like Squidoo, you could rise to the top much easier using a Squidoo site.

However, you DO still want to have your own website because it will be something you own that you can control.

You just use Squidoo to point traffic to your own website. So, you will create a Squidoo lens which uses the keyword phrase that you are targeting. Google will pick that up and start sending people to your lens.

On your Squidoo, you will use anchor text to point people to your website. However, you must be careful that you do not violate any of the terms of service at Squidoo as there are certain topics that they no longer allow because they were too spammy.

Also, make sure that you do provide valuable content as well as a lot of interaction for your visitors so that they will want to click through to your website.

The more content you have, including polls, comments and video, th e better chance you will have of getting a higher ranking and thus more traffic from Google. Using Squidoo is one great way to generate more traffic to your website very quickly.

How To Create A Wealth Mindset

Wealth creation all starts with the mind. If you have an abundance attitude and wealth mindset, you'll be able to attract the financial success you deserve!

While there are many paths to wealth, once you discover the abundance mindset, you've set yourself up for actually achieving your dreams. But how do you create this mindset in the first place?

Here are some techniques that will help you develop the Think and Grow Rich mindset:

1. Visualize your goal. It's not enough to just say you want to "be rich." You have to make the conscious decision to create a clear goal and visualize all the details. It's best to focus all of your energy on one thing rather than spreading yourself too thin.

2. Be specific. Break down your goal into minute details and start thinking about the exact steps you need to take in order to get there.

3. Break up the plan. The goal seems huge at first, but once broken down into smaller, more manageable steps, it doesn't seem so bad. Focus on each individual task that you need to complete, and then congratulate yourself once you achieve each step.

4. Take action. It's easy to get caught up in the daydreaming and planning phases of your goals, but action is what it takes to get you there. Your dreams become realities with action; otherwise they'll just remain dreams forever.

5. Seek a mentor. Sometimes people are tempted to go at it alone, but you're not alone in this world! There are many out there that would like to see you succeed and it's your responsibility to find these like-minded people. Perhaps a business mentor or life coach may be just what you need to give you that extra push.

6. Focus on your thoughts. If you're experiencing confidence issues, it's important to take time to focus on your thoughts. Do you really believe that you can achieve wealth? Are negative thoughts holding you back? If necessary, remind yourself that wealth is possible and that success is a very real possibility for you as well.

7. Believe you deserve i! t. Belie ve that you are worthy of achieving wealth. If you don't think that you deserve it, you may unconsciously set yourself up for failure. In turn, you may actually become the roadblock that prevents you from the wealth you deserve.

Believe In Yourself

Do you truly want wealth? Then be willing to follow through on your action plan while maintaining a positive attitude.

In life there are plenty of snags in the road and your path to wealth won't always be easy. If you maintain the perseverance to achieve, you'll be more willing to seek solutions and find success.

Remember that you have to start somewhere. Take the time to truly appreciate your progress. So for example, if you've doubled your salary, that's a huge feat to be celebrated! While you may not be rich yet, you've made progress on the way to wealth. Keep focused on your goal and you'll continue to build an unstoppable momentum.

Creating a Plan B for Financial Security

Now more than ever, it's important to secure your financial future. If the chips are ever down, you'll at least have a plan to turn to for help.

It's true that you should put your whole heart in your main source of income. When you work hard enough with a drive to succeed, nothing will keep you away from that success. However, unexpected circumstances come into play every so often, so you may need to divert to Plan B temporarily.

Here are some ideas for building a rock-solid Plan B:

1. Develop Multiple Streams of Income. When your main stream of income is sufficient to sustain your family, you may be tempted to rely on that income alone. However, it's always a good idea to insulate and supplement that income. You may think you don't absolutely need the money, but you can always save for future unexpected expenses.

• Look for other opportunities for side jobs in your field
• Turn a hobby into a money maker
• Consider wise investments to grow money faster

2. Add to Your Savings. You'll need to realize that even small contributions will add up to something big before you know it. Shop around for a high yield savings account. Tell yourself that you'll add a fixed amount to the fund each month. Have an automatic withdrawal every month even if you can only afford $10 or $25 at a time. Over the long run this really adds up!

3. Develop Your Skills. Always be on the look out for opportunities to improve your current skill set, or to develop completely new skills. This will give you back up career opportunities. If you pigeon hole yourself into one set career, you'll be scrambling if something unexpected happens. While it'll still be a bummer if Plan A falls through, it'll feel so much better when you can launch into Plan B without panicking.

4. Make Contacts and Establish Good Relationships. You've probably heard the saying: "Don't burn your bridges." You truly never know when you might want to walk a certain path, so don't close any doors hastily. Also, remain open and make contacts wherever you can. You might just be hanging out at the gym after work, but you never know what kind of friendship you can drum up, and how that person may be able to help you out in the future.

5. Write Out Your Plans. It's vital to maintain a certain amount of organization in your plans. When establishing your life's Plan A and Plan B, it'll really help to write everything down. Have separate lists for your short term and long term financial goals. Cross off goals as you meet them. This way you've got a written reminder of your progress. If Plan B comes into play, you'll have written instructions and you won't have to worry.

Making Wise Choices

When it comes down to deciding what you should do with your money, remember to always invest in some sure bets. You don't want to gamble with your money expecting greater gains. Your best bet is to find a middle ground. Decide on a certain amount of money that automatically goes into a savings account and can't be touched.

When you have a nest egg for unexpected life events, it gives you time to execute your Plan B. If you're lucky enough to have extra cash coming in, you can then decide to be riskier with your financial decisions. As long as you know you have enough money coming in, it may be worth your time and investment.

The first thing you need to do when considering how to make money online is to define your target market. Sounds simple and it is, but it is an often overlooked step to profiting on the web. You need to get a picture of your ideal customer firmly in your mind first - before you even think about doing any marketing at all. You should consider how old your ideal customer is, what level of education they have, where they live, how much disposable income they enjoy and so on.

When you have identified these problems, your next step is to identify the very best possible solutions that also offer affiliate programs.

And your final step is to simply connect the dots. You - the online marketer - need to become the link between the Google search and the product recommendation. That's how easy it is to make money online. Of course we are going to go into this process in more detail as we work our way through this series, but in essence, right there you have what Affiliate Marketing is all about.

To summarise, this tip concerns developing an understanding of your target market. Get this wrong and your efforts will be severely hampered; get this right and you could finally be on your way to writing out your own pay check. So remember: you are not looking for what people are searching for; you are looking for what problems your target market has that are difficult enough to solve for them to be willing to part with money.

Making money is easy when you know how. Conversely, of course, it is quite difficult when you don't know how. It took me quite some time, and a lot of effort, before I figured out how. Before that point it seemed hard - at least, to me - but now I do, really and truly, make money easy.

So what is it that has made the difference? The difference, quite simply has been discipline. Discipline, quite simply, is doing what you need to do in order to get what you want. Of course when you start-out, the main problem is figuring out what you need to do. But even after you know what you need to do, discipline is actually following through and translating those good intentions into a solid action plan.

Once you have your plan, you simply need to work it. You remember the old adage: first, you 'plan your work' and then you 'work your plan'. If the plan is good, it produces the results you want; if your plan is flawed in some way, it still produces results - maybe not the results you wanted, but you still get results. So if you don't get the results you are after, you change the plan and continue.

This is using the principle in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) of being prepared to continuously change your approach until you find one that works i.e. produces the results you are after; and once you have that approach, you will continue your with your discipline and make use of that method continuously and faithfully until you get the results you want.

So, I would say, that it is indeed discipline that has made the difference to me. It may have taken me some time to find out what works - actually, it took me approximately three years - but now that I know, I am busy each day putting that knowledge to excellent use and using it to grow my passive income every single day.

Actually, when I think of it, I guess that's part of the reason it took me so long to figure out how to make money online. I was not just looking for a way that worked; I was looking for a way that worked consistently. Once that would deliver results over and over again for the same effort - I wanted to make money easy - remember?

Well, I did finally get there and if you too use the same disciplined approach, you can get there too. You can certainly succeed online when you are prepared to work steadily toward your goal and constantly change your approach until you find what works - and that's discipline.

Is it Really Possible to Make Money Doing Nothing?

As a result of my recent post, I have had a few people querying whether it is really possible to make money doing nothing. My answer to that question is that it is indeed possible, but perhaps I should qualify that a bit.

What I mean when I say that it is possible is that it is possible to create a residual passive income online – that’s exactly what I am working toward myself. I actually earn 5 figures (at present) entirely passively – all without doing anything. Now that said, those results are the fruit of actions taken in the past.

In other words, I did not sit on my butt attempting to send my thoughts out into the ether and hoping for some return. No – instead, I took the necessary action to create that passive income stream. Once created however, the money does indeed come in entirely passively without doing anything at all. Such is the beauty of a good proven online system.

Actually, I have several different systems that I am using to create that income; one of which I simply bought. I paid a few dollars for it; and it does make me hundreds of dollars each and every month straight into my PayPal account – and all without me lifting so much as a finger.

When I started out trying to make money online, it all seemed so complicated, but now I can usually tell right away whether or not something is going to work. I suppose that is the benefit of experience. The internet does have the power to fulfill your dreams of financial security; and once you have the right system in place, you will wonder why you struggled in the beginning.

The Scrambled Egg Muffin Problem

Now I have been meaning to write about the scrambled egg muffin problem for quite a while. I'll tell you about it in just a minute, but first, whilst we are on the subject of McDonald's, here's a few things you can try next time you go in there ...

Listening to my Heart

The First Time I Listened to my Heart, I also increased my Adsense revenue. It was a quite unexpected result of learning how to make judgments about my online business in a completely new way. When I say new, what I mean is: the idea of making decisions based, not on logic, but on emotion is a new experience for me.

Most people who know me say I am a logical thinker. I know this because in a variety of situations, for various reasons, I have been told so. My professional training certainly did demand a logical approach to problem-solving; and I pride myself in my ability to work-out the answers to situations I have never previously encountered. This ability has stood me in good stead in the development of my online business.

Many people here will have read Deepak Chopra's landmark book, The 7 Spiritual Laws to Success. By the way, if you haven't, I would wholeheartedly recommend the book - I have it on CD and will sometimes play it in the car on long journeys. Anyway, in that book, he talks about making decisions using the heart; literally, by listening to the heart.

Now, to me, I always thought this was more of a figure of speech; a kind of shorthand for intuitive, rather than logical, thinking. As is happens, I have always believed myself to be strongly intuitive; despite the fact that others would generally not tend to classify me as an intuitive thinker.

Anyway, recently, I managed to increase my Adsense revenue, sort-of, by accident. It happened because of a decision I made about the video selection I was showing on my Adsense pages. I had been allowing the contextual feature within YouTube to put a relevant video - including Adsense ads on my pages.

But I began to get disappointed with the kind of videos that were showing-up: sometimes they were just plain rubbish - it's amazing what people put on YouTube - and sometimes no video would be shown at all. So I decided to forget about the convenience of automatic context-selection and also not to worry about losing the embedded Adsense ads and just concentrate on putting some good, relevant videos on those pages.

Now, here's where listening to the heart comes in: the critieria I used for selecting those videos was emotional. If the video moved me, and was relevant to the content of the page, then I would use it - that was all I did. What then happened surprised me: my Adsense revenue actually rose. There were no other changes, so I knew the increase was simply due to the new videos.

What I think is happening is - this is the logical part of my brain kicking-in here - people are slowing down to watch the videos because they are much more interesting to my average visitor than the previous automated content.

Whilst they are engaged, watching the video, their periphery-vision sees the Adsense Ads - a simple skyscraper placed adjacent to the video - and a greater proportion are clicking through as a result. Why, because of the slowing effect cause by the content-relevant video. But why do these videos work so well in slowing down my readers? Because emotional content within their messages causes many people to watch them right-through to the end - that is my analysis.

So, now I know how to select videos for my content pages. It is no longer a logical affair for me: the decision will, from now on, be a decision of the heart. In many respects, this is a kind of mental-release. I no longer feel I need to worry about Adsense placement or colours or any of those other things.

Learning to listen to my heart has been an enlightening experience.

1.Write and submit articles :). It is a classic, but it works. This will be indefinite traffic stuck in the search engines for you. Write quality unique articles, not articles that are rehashed or provide no insight to readers, which is a huge problem these days.

2.Write and submit press releases, think prweb after you do one.

3.Write and ping blog entries. Always make sure to link back to your website with your blog posts. Try making multiple blogs and have them all link back to one main site.

4.Make sure your website is listed in DMOZ: http://dmoz.org/

5.Advertise your website in the appropriate categories at Craigslist. Try posting your ads in the most populated cities in the world.

6.If a niche related forum that you frequently visit allows signatures, then make sure to add your website url in there.

7.Make sure to view related products on Amazon.com. You can try and take some customers from your competitors here by providing your own url if the product is similar.

8.Review websites in your niche on Alexa to try to take some of their traffic by including a reference back to your site.

56.Become the virus within your niche. Make yourself the bug and have people talking about your product. When people talk about your product then you can induce the viral effect. However, you must give people a reason to talk about you, and being like everyone else is not one.

57.Do your research and find expensive niches to tap into. A good way to do this is to find how expensive someone is paying for a keyword on a PPC search engine. If you can sell items that are more expensive more often then it is a quicker way to get rich :D.

58.Become an active respected member of niche related forums. You can do this by offering quality posts. Hint Hint, it is not the number of posts you make, it is the quality. Remember, quality or quantity. Many useless or negative posts will have people looking at you funny.

59.Test, test, test. Your flushing money down the toilet if your not testing to see what campaigns are bringing you in the most money compared to which ones are costing you money. When you test, you can eliminate the campaigns that are costing you dollars so that you can properly maximize your marketing efforts. Without proper testing, you are pretty much lost and can’t improve. You can only guess to what has or what is working. With proper testing, you do not guess, you know.

60.Stay up to date on what is going on in the world, you can monetize off hot topic trends.

61.Network, when you know more people you can find people that can help you get what you need.

62.Offer an affiliate program for your product or service. Make sure to let your satisfied customers know that you have one, if they like your product then they will be even more delighted to know that they will get money for referring you.

IS GUARANTEED INCOME A POSSIBILITY?

You've probably seen claims like these yourself. You know ...

"make $100 to $1000's per week in passive, residual income without having to sell anything!"

... that kind of thing. I have beed wondering if that is really possible and have recently come across the interesting idea of Arbitrage. The concept of Arbitrage has been around a long time however, the whole thing is pretty new to me, So what is Arbitrage? Well, It is defined as "a risk-free transaction in which the same asset or event is assigned two differing values simultaneously, generating a profit on the difference".

Now when I come to think of it, plently of people have doing exactly that with Adsense Publishing. You know: pay for traffic (perhaps from Adwords) then monetise it by getting it through your Adsense on your landing pages. It strikes me as a rather tricky and somewhat risky idea, but apparently there are people doing it and making money from the idea.

Anyway, I was wondering what other ways of using the Arbitrage idea are about. After a bit of research, I discovered that Adsense/Adwords is certainly not the only way to get into Arbitrage. There are transactions being completed all over the world and opportunities being created by them because of diferences in exchange rates. You may have heard of Forex for example - that's basically another example of Arbitrage.

The Split is Official

THE APPRENTICE COMES OF AGE

Yes folks, the split is now official - The Apprentice has finally split from The Rich Jerk! The Apprentice is to be known as The Guru's Apprentice. All the back-room work is just about completed and the blog is relaunched today.

The Apprentice commented, "I guess there is only so much you can do with the Rich Jerk project without revealing too much and violating copyright. We felt we had gone as far as we could with the initial idea. New ideas which are not directly related to the Rich Jerk are already in the pipeline and the relaunch therefore became vitaly important".

So there you are - now we have the Guru's Apprentice with the promise of more great products on the way. The Apprentice would not be drawn on what products are to be launched, but did comment that Resale Rights and Master Resale Rights for new products were being considered at the present time.

My First JV

MY FIRST JOINT VENTURE

Well, I just completed my very first JV! And here are the results - I sold 14 copies of my main product! It may not sound like a lot to you but it's a good start!

And now the cloud is beginning to lift a bit - perhaps I can see the way forward at last. If I had 500 people doing what I did with just one other partner, then I could pack-in the day job. So this could definately be my plan but before I commence, I am going to do a bit more testing with another product to see how things pan out - of course, I'll keep you posted.

People keep asking me: who is the Rich Jerk? Well, when I started this blog, I said I would not reveal his identity but, well, things have changed. His identity was leaked on other websites and now I feel able to give a straight answer to the question: the Rich Jerk is Kelly Felix.

Kelly is the brains behind GuessWhatiHeard.com. He has also been involved in many other successful websites; several of which he has sold for large profits. Kelly is the founder of CreditPro Inc., a multi-million dollar internet marketing corporation. Naturally, he is most famous (or perhaps infamous) for his Internet Marketing book The Rich Jerk.

Lot's of people are wanting to know how to get rich on the internet - that's, of course, one of the reasons why the Rich Jerk has been so successful. He definatley got rich from the internet - selling one site on eBay for a reported $300,000! He then wrote his landmark book The Rich Jerk - which literally took the internet by storm - offering to tell his 'secrets' of getting rich to anyone who wanted to know.

Well, if you want to know how to get rich on the internet, here is the Apprentice's advice:

After reading the Rich Jerk's book, amongst other things, I decided to give Blogging a go. It had been something I did not understand and simply had not tried - that's how this blog actually got started!

Now people are always asking me how I am making money on-line and how they can do the same; and recently, I have been telling them to start a blog. I really do wish I had got into this much sooner than I did. Start a blog on your favourite subject, bang in some Adsense & you are bound to make money. Now, if you want to get a headstart, this book can come in really handy because you get all the benefit of Rob's substantial experience doing exactly that - creating blogs & bringing in the cash!

This book is very practical & down-to Earth in its approach. Rob explains how to get your blog started - on the right subject. Now that is something you should really get straight before your start. Choose the wrong subject and you are unlikely to get ranked well in Google or any other search engine for that matter. He includes plenty of screen-shots so the plan is very easy to follow. Then Rob shares all his own 'secrets' for getting your blog to the top in Google.

Now if you put all that together, you've got a winner because you will get free traffic from the search engines; and a percentage of that traffic will click through your Adsense ads and make you money. For anyone starting out in Internet Marketing, this plan is absolutely foolproof - I certainly wish I had known this stuff when I first started. It would have saved me getting involved in a number of dubious schemes that just didn't work out for me. Still I was learning it all the hard way after all!

A RICH JERK APPRENTICE REVIEW

When I was invited to review this package, I was absolutely delighted because the name Dave Mizrachi was mentioned. Now, just in case you don’t know who Dave is: he is the man behind the design of Mike Filsaime’s Butterfly Marketing web page – does that say enough about his credentials?

This product is a two-hour teleseminar in which Dave and expert copywriter Michel Fortin revealed some of their most important secrets for getting a website actually converting. When I downloaded and listened to it - avidly – about half-way through I was suddenly struck by the thought that I should have been taking notes. Anyhow, it turned out to be unnecessary because, included in the package, was a workbook in which all of the main suggestions were captured – whew!

Immediately after listening, I went to work on one of my own sales pages; changing headings, including bullets and drop-caps – something I never really understood before – and generally improving the readability of the copy. Of course, I can’t give away too many specifics here, but the call certainly provided a valuable insight into the mind of the professional copywriter.

The bonuses were also excellent: I got five free web templates – and straight away used one of the rounded boxes on my site. I had been wondering how to do that for a while. I use Microsoft FrontPage for web page design; and I just couldn’t figure out how to create those little rounded devils! In addition to the web templates, there was also a free video which showed Michel Fortin (sic) taking apart a webpage and reformatting it for maximum effectiveness - again, a fascinating insight into the copywriter’s art.

There are no smoke and mirrors tricks in the recommendations from Dave & Michel – just good, sound and honest advice; the kind of advice I wish I had listened to a couple of years back. However, you know the saying – when the student is ready, the teacher will appear! This package, for me, was spot-on – just what I needed to move me on a gear in my internet marketing effort.

BREAKTHROUGH MONEY-MAKING SECRETS REVIEW

The Clickbank product Thank You Rich Jerk by Holly Man naturally caught my eye and I have been meaning to get hold of it and write a review for some time. Well today I finally decided to get the book and take a look for myself. The title of the book actually turned out to be Breakthrough Money-Making Secrets and not Thank You Rich Jerk.

Anyway, I would say that Holly (23) has done a fairly good job of describing the steps involved in Affiliate Marketing; and she certainly appears to be 'walking her talk' - so to speak. With the results she is achieving which includes getting around 10,000 visitors to her site in a single month, she seems to have mastered the game. Interestingly she attributes her success to Mike Filsaime and not to the Rich Jerk! It turns out that the Rich Jerk is simply a keyword phrase she is presently targetting in her SEO campaign.

Holly claims to be providing the same information as the Rich Jerk, but at a fraction of the cost - now, is that claim true? Well, I would say that with regard to the affiliate marketing side of things - yes! There is, of course, plenty of additional stuff in the Rich Jerk's book that Holly doesn't cover for example, the subject of copywriting. And that, of course, is the very subject covered by our own insider's report.

Is Holly's book worth the money? Well, I believe that really depends on where you are in your own internet marketing journey. If you are what people love to fondly call - a 'newbie', then this information is like gold. It will certainly get you marketing properly and making money on the internet. If however, you already have a website and you know a bit about Affiliate Marketing and have 'been around the block' for a while, then you might find some of the information a bit basic.

Having said that, it does sell at a remarkably low price and I found some interesting suggestions which I am intending to put to work for me; so even for an old pro like me, I believe it is worth the small investment.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

Recently a blog reader asked me how the Residual Income program was going. I wrote back to say I wasn't very impressed with it. To be honest, it really falls into the same category as Insider Secrets i.e. it works but it doesn't work very well. Well, since that mail, I have been meaning to take another look at the program and write a review and - what do you know - they seem to have gone pop!

When you try to access their website right now, you get this message ...

Residual Income Streams program has been suspended because Stormpay has closed doors to trading outside their auction system and Paypal is suspending members accounts. This is a case of force majeure and we are considering all our possibilities. We are extremely sorry for this but it is happening because of things that are beyond our control.

I have heard of other marketers having similar problems with these two payment processors - for example, I know the $2 Empire ran into the same problems. I am therefore removing the Residual Income link from our site & will not be recommending the program.

MONEY MAKING ON THE WEB

The copy is compelling - you are apparently going to learn a secret that you can use over and over again to generate profits whenever you like - and the thing only costs $5! Sounds good don't you think? Perhaps almost too good!

Well I bought it and have used it and here is my honest opinion: first-off, I would say that the book does contain a system for generating profits. Second, I would say, 'yes' it does work. But a reader recently emailed me to ask how well it was working for me and I have to say truthfully - not very well!

The book has certainly more than returned my small investment of $5 but I would say that I don't feel it is really worth pursuing & I will be removing it from this site. Not because it doesn't work, but because it certainly (in my humble opinion anyway) over-promises and under-delivers. Even though it's only $5, I would say - don't waste your time or money on this product!

You need only type the words into Google to see the question being asked over and over again - is the Rich Jerk a scam? Well, here is the Apprentice's answer ...

First the Rich Jerk is indeed rich. As has been well documented elsewhere, his name is Kelly Felix and he became infamous in the history of Internet Marketing with his ebook The Rich Jerk. People either love him or hate him; and he basically doesn't care either way because his approach is making him a ton of cash.

Is he a jerk? Well, some people seem to think so, but my answer to that is that they do not seem to be able to distinguish between the marketing persona and the person behind the mask. The Jerk is the persona not the person. Is this deceptive in any way? Personally, I don't believe so. It exactly the same device used by many writers - a psuedo-identity or pen-name.

Now to his product - the ebook. Is it a scam?

If you type 'define scam' into Google and look at the web definition you get this 'scam: a ploy by a shyster to raise money' - I suppose it brings up the question as to what exactly is a shyster? Anyhow, is it a ploy to raise money? Again personally, I don't think so - it's just a book about Internet Marketing - that's all.

Lastly, does his stuff work? The answer is straight-forward and can be gleaned from these two questions:-

Is he making money? Answer 'yes'.
Does he reveal his tactics? Answer 'yes'.

So is the Rich Jerk a scam? The answer must be 'no'. The book contains some good advice and some ethically questionable advice - it's for the reader to decide what to use and what not to use - but the Apprentice's answer is that it's certainly not a scam.

It seems the famous Warrior Forum has banned me! What have I done to deserve this? I have simply chosen a name they don't like - 'The Rich Jerk's Apprentice' - that's all! Allen Says, the founder of the forum, believes it is simply my choice of name that has caused Moderators at the forum to immediately delete my forum posts.

The Moderators who are actually responsible for removing posts will not enter into dialogue on the matter but after some testing it seems that not only were posts originated by me deleted, but also any thread containing my comments were also deleted. No explanations - all of them just removed!

Allan said that the Rich Jerk had originally 'spammed' the forum in an effort to get his book publicised and that was probably the reason for the harsh reactions of the Moderators. Well, it seems our name has caused quite a stir - we must be on the right track!

eBay - Waste of My Time

eBAY - WHAT A JOKE!

I can't seen to get the hang of the eBay thing! I put up a great offer - $1 for a $49 product. I get 11 visitors and nobody bids! Meanwhile some nutcase is selling a reistor (yes an electrical resisitor) writes a page of absolute junk-copy and gets 10,000 visitors???

Now the only reason I listed my product for $1 was to get visitors - if someone had bought they'd have genuinely got a great deal. That's what they call a loss-leader isn't it? Anyhow it's been a complete waste of my time. I think I'm going to leave eBay alone for a while.

Our eBay Experiment

IT WORKS!

In our test, we posted 7 x products and sold 3, so we have definately proved it could work selling through eBay. Now let's think about this a bit. If our goal is to make say $200 per day, we would need:

Number x Price ($)
5 x 40 = 200
10 x 20 = 200
20 x 10 = 200
40 x 5 = 200

Now to get 10 sales per day, we would need 10 different products listed simultaneously. Since the standard auction lasts 7 days, we would need 7 x 10 products so that we have 10 different auctions coming to fruition each day.

So I guess we need 70 good saleable products that can each command a price of $20 i.e. they must each be a bargain at $20. At present we are a long way short.

OK - first off how do you know how successful your site is at getting traffic? With a hit-counter of course. Now I don't suggest that you show a hit counter - you can put an invisible one on your site - but you should have one. At present, you just don't know how much traffic you are getting.

Second: while I admire that the 'Home' link points directly to The Rich Jerk book, your site will do better on Google if the anchor text actually says 'Rich Jerk'.

Third: you won't sell many copies of The Rich Jerk directly from your link - everyone else is giving away something. I know you are too, but make sure everyone know it. So get your link pointing to your offer that includes the Rich Jerk book - not directly to the Sales Page.

Next: I'm glad to see you've got some Google Adsense ads. You neeed to think about placement - perhaps even include some in your banner and don't forget to use 'channels' so you can see how well they are doing.

Last: I like the look of your Affiliate Program. You are offering the right commission and you have taken a proven winner and made it better - so well done. But don't just expect people to sign-up with no futher effort on your part. Write to a few of the best marketers you can find and tell them why your product is better than Yanik's.

I Ditched the Adwords Campaign

P HAS GONE APE!

I decided to drop the Adwords Campaign. I mean, I know he's rich and I ain't but I just didn't feel good about it and it also meant that I was spending time blogging about a subject I didn't really care about. And the time I was spending on that meant that I wasn't spending time on my main site which is what I really care about and want to succeed.

So I just dumped the campaign - it cost me a few clicks; and it earned me nothing. I don't think P's strategy is faulty as such; but I do think it carries some risk. When P found out about it, he went absolutely ape! He told me that I would never get rich if I did what other people generally do - buy the info and then disregard it!

Well, I am not disregarding his advice completely - I have just decided that this particular strategy is not for me.

First Sale

Well we have rejigged our sales pages and made a sale. It's probably far too early to say if the two things are related. As a matter of fact, I think everytime I've rejigged our sales pages in the past I seem to have made an immediate sale - odd thing. Well time will tell.

As far as the Adwords Campaign is concerned, we have enough impressions - obviously that's good - but we still have no clicks yet. Not a sausage! I have tweaked the Adwords ad and we will just have to wait. Meanwhile, after a full day of editing yesterday, I'm going to take a break today.

GOT MY FIRST ADWORDS CAMPAIGN UNDERWAY TODAY

Well I've got another blog on a high keyword value theme and also started an Adwords campaign as per P's instructions and now we just need to wait and see what happens. So far - no clicks at all. I've tweaked the ads - I know that in The Rich Jerk book, P was very specific about how to do this and I will need to continue to tweak and test.

I've also had a go at the Sales Pages on my main site. Again, I was impressed by the Rich Jerk page - even if it annoyed some people, so I've tried to follow a bit of advice and also mimic a bit of style (but not the attitude - which I think would be wrong for my site). We'll see how these trials go & I will let you know.

The Google Dance

Apparently - Google is Dancing - even if I'm not asking!

It seems that Google's index is spread across 13 x Data Centres and loads of different Linux Servers. So the reason my site showed up on page 3 and then disappeared the next day is that the servers are out of sync - this is apparently called the Google Dance.

Well I am still not back on page 3 for the search term 'Rich Jerk' - which is indeed where we should be - or perhaps even better. There is nothing I can do except blog and ping and that's what I must continue to do for now. P doesn't get the chance to look at my site until next week. Hopefully he can give me some more adice then.

GOOGLE IS BROKEN !!!

Amazing news - something is seriously wrong with Google. Yesterday my site was on page 3 but today it is nowhere to be found! I have no idea what has happened: perhaps the Google people just don't like my site. I must have upset them somehow - I will need to speak to P about this.

Meanwhile I have no idea who could possibly find this blog. If you are not listed on the search engines then I guess you are dead in the water. Oh well - there is nothing I can do about it right now. We'll have to wait and see what P says.

My Attitude Stinks

I just couldn't wait - I had to call P & let him know how excited I am about getting such a great Google Ranking within such a short time. But I was amazed at his reply -

"Hey - you know I'm right. Now what are you goin to do about it?"

I can hardly believe it. The blog was created on Saturday and here we are only 3 days later and not only are we on Google, but we are on page 3 for the search term "Rich Jerk" - wow! I guess I didn't understand how to blog before but now I know I do because the results speak for themselves - all thanks to P.

Anyway, who knows what'll happen when I follow P's advice and move the links down the page? I can't wait to try it. I'm going to do it right away as soon as I finish this post. Then I don't know how long we have to wait before lil ol Googlebot comes a-visiting, but hey can't be more than 3 days - right?

Good start but remember you need to keep at it especially in these early days. Remember to ping like I told ya. For now just keep doing it - blog & ping - and you will get picked up by a few engines soon.

The site looks ok - I've seen better; I've seen worse - it's ok. Good enough for your purpose. Don't waste too much time making it look pretty - your goal is make a few bucks. Just one thing, your links at the top of the page - probably not a good idea 'cos they will be the first thing a search engine will read when it eventually gets to your site - you might want to move them to the lower bar to rank higher - I know you don't like my black-hat ideas so you probably will need to do this.

I'll let you have more when I get a bit of time. Right now, I have my hands full with the new ipod deal.

My Site Stinks

Yes it's true, P has promised to pop over & review my site for me, but first he wants me to really blog my brains out for a while. He says that he expects my site will stink but he'll take a look anyway.

I told him that I was really pleased with the start I'd made and I had already got it looking great. He asked me if it had made any money yet; and when I answered that it hadn't (and I don't expect it to yet because it has only been going for 1 day) he said that it stinks. P is very clear about this, "Are you doing this to make money and if your answer is yes, then it doesn't matter how good it looks - if it ain't making money, it stinks!"

OK, but thanks to P, at least I do know what I'm supposed to be doing right now and he says the best possible result I could get would be for Google's spider (apparently called 'Googlebot')to find me in 3 days.
